Tribe and Royals Split, Rain Delay Tonight
Well, going into the series, I said I’d be happy with a split. And that is exactly what happened. However, that series finale was a tough one to swallow. I really thought Chris Perez was going to find a way to Houdini out of that one. But alas, he is a human being and the Indians were forced to be content with 2 our of 4.
But even in their losses, the Tribe only lost by a run in each of them, which says something. This team has fight.
I was bummed that the Twins series opener was rained out tonight. I was really looking forward to some baseball this evening (having not been able to properly watch the last couple games due to work).
Ah well, tomorrow is another day. Go Tribe.
Game 8: Tribe stretch it to 6 straight
I wasn’t able to watch tonight’s game, but I made sure to grab this year’s MLB At Bat app for my HTC EVO 4G smartphone so I can keep up with all the action on the go. Needless to say, watching a close game go by pitch graphic by pitch graphic can be stressful.
I was able to tune into my MLB.TV subscription at home just in time to see Chris Perez and the Tribe finish things off against the struggling Mariners.
Compared the the offensive explosion of last nights contest, this left a lot to be desired. But, that being said, the Indians are still hitting the baseball and swing the bats well. And, even when they haven’t gotten the big hit, they’ve been finding ways to win games, and that is something the Cleveland Indians teams of the past couple years haven’t been successful with.
Indians take on the M’s in the final game of the series and look for their 2nd series sweep of the year at 4:05 PM ET (thank God) tomorrow afternoon.
