Game 1: Tribe fall to Chi Sox 15-10

Well, the first three innings were something to forget.  My goodness did Fausto Carmona get rocked.  He gave up 10 earned runs in 3 innings, leaving him with an ERA of 30.00 to start 2011 campaign.  Things were looking very bleak, early.

The White Sox would go on to add 4 more runs to their score before the Tribe could even make a dent.
But in the 6th, the Tribe bats would come alive.  Sure, Buerhle was out of the game at this point, but you gotta love how this young Indians team kept battling.  Santana and Hannahan both blasted their first homeruns of the season and started of their 2011 off strong offensively with three hits a piece.
Another interesting stat?  Indians pitching accumulated 14 strikeouts.  White Sox pitching only had ONE.  Obviously, give credit to them for winning the ball game, but Carmona aside, I really liked what I saw from the Tribe.
Game 2 tomorrow, 1PM ET on STO and MLB.TV

First Pitch – 10 Mins Away

Just sitting down to enjoy the Tribe take on the White Sox in round 2 of Opening Day baseball.  Got my bag of peanuts, and my ice cold beer.  No matter what happens this season, nothing compares to that feeling of hope before the first game of the season.

Anything is possible.  Game 1 blog entry to follow after the game.  Cheers!

Beat the Streak – So Far So Good

Anybody playing Beat The Streak?  Silly question, I know you are.  Either way, my streak is currently 1 thanks to Miguel Cabrera’s knock against the Yanks today.  I decided to go with him as my first Beat the Streak pick because he has had very good history against CC Sabathia, and because – he’s Miguel Cabrera.

Tomorrow, with it being the Indian’s Opening Day, I had to choose Shin-Soo Choo.  Can’t wait.  Man, it feels good to be watching baseball again.

It’s 3:00AM – Opening Day

A couple years ago I started this blog, and for the my short time keeping up with it, I really enjoyed it.  However, my MLBlogging was short lived. I suppose I could say a lot was going on back then that was preventing me from giving the appropriate amount of attention to this blog to make it the least bit worthwhile.  Yeah, we’ll go with that.

But alas, it is 2011 and I’ve decided to give this another shot.  And what better time do so then at 3:00 AM on Opening Day.  I’m awake like a kid on Christmas Eve waiting to unwrap all that baseball goodness on my newly renewed MLB.TV subscription.  I can’t wait.
And yes, I’m still a displaced Tribe fan.  But now, I’m displaced even further.  Since my last post, I have moved from Michigan to Georgia to pursue some new ventures.  I’ve only been here  a short amount of time, but I can confidently say I don’t see myself hating Braves fans as much as I hate Tigers fans.  However, I do miss the friendly heckling all my Michigan buddies would give me for being a Tribe fan.
But let’s not forget, the Braves and Indians have quite the history themselves.  The other tribe of the South gave my Indians a blow in the ’95 World Series.  I was young, but I still remember the devastation.  It was heartbreaking, but at the same time fueled my love of the game.  But that little inter-league rivalry has had plenty of time to cool off.  So we’re cool for now, Atlanta.
That felt good.  I’m a little rusty, but it’s nice to be back MLBlogs.
